Since 1972, The Chicago Reporter’s data-driven investigative reporting has uncovered racial injustice and governmental neglect. It also has launched the careers of many journalists in Chicago and beyond.
When the Reporter’s parent organization unceremoniously placed the well-funded publication on “hiatus†in the fall of 2020, journalists from across the country rallied to demand an explanation.
Thinkinc. assisted a group of alumni from the Reporter to bring even more light to the puzzling cessation of operations. We issued a press release and spread the alumni’s hashtag #SaveTheChicagoReporter as we secured coverage on the venerable news program “Chicago Tonight.†Thinkinc. is honored to do this work pro bono because a free press is one of the pillars of American Democracy.
