Equity or Else!

In fall 2021, the Journey for Justice Alliance debuted its national “Equity or Else” campaign aimed at building a national narrative that both defines equity and offers a Quality of Life policy agenda. J4J turned to Thinkinc. to get the word out about the campaign’s monthly environmental-justice, town hall panel discussions across the U.S.

The monthly town halls will build toward a national conference, May 13-14, 2022, in Baltimore and a 25,000-person march in late September 2022 on the Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington.

Journey for Justice Alliance comprises grassroots organizations in 36 cities and focuses on making racial equity a reality in America’s public education system. To further that goal, J4J launched the Equity or Else Campaign on May 17, 2021 with a national virtual rally that was viewed by more than 3,000 people. Thinkinc. applied its experience and insights in delivering the successful turnout.

As J4J notes, the same neighborhoods that are most vulnerable to flooding, have toxic dumps, foul air and lead in their water also are in food deserts, have failing schools, and lack affordable housing, access to health care and public transportation. A comprehensive approach to equity is needed to right these wrongs so that America can fulfill its vast potential.
