1 Million Viewers & Listeners Tune In to an Important Cause
Black and Brown women and girls go missing or are murdered at a higher rate than other U.S. populations, according to the latest federal statistics. Each summer, youth in the Bronzeville neighborhood demonstrate to raise awareness of this fact and to campaign for change.
The Kenwood-Oakland Community Organization (KOCO) launched its 8th Annual We Walk for Her march on June 8, 2025, attaining its highest visibility yet.
Thinkinc.’s strategic communications plan leading to a TV/radio audience of 1.03 million, an increase of 92% above 2024’s audience. Metro Monitor estimated $111,964 worth of coverage for We Walk For Her across print, radio and television, an increase of 82%.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Thinkinc worked with KOCO’s Girls Lead project to create opportunities that brought significant coverage of their campaign, including the We Walk for Her march. Members of Girls Lead addressed a Subject Matter Hearing of the Chicago City Council. They have worked with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to enact protocols that keep families updated about any developments in ongoing investigations. And their intergenerational partnership with the Involved Seniors of KOCO helps spread the word on how girls and women can stay safe.
Thinkinc. is grateful to be a part of KOCO’s continuing movement that brings decision-making power and agency to the families most affected by issues in Bronzeville. The 8th Annual We Walk For Her march again demonstrated that KOCO’s organizing efforts have impact far beyond its Bronzeville roots.
