THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF SOCIETAL ISSUES AT UC BERKELEY
The Institute for the Study of Societal Issues (ISSI) engaged Thinkinc. to design and promote a Black Mayors Conference.
ISSI’s primary focus is on institutional patterns that impact marginalized communities – in the United States and around the world – as well as social and political movements that disrupt such patterns.
By having over 75 faculty, graduate students, research staff and visiting scholars who are from different disciplines and engaged in research on societal issues all under one roof, ISSI nurtures a lab environment, where informal conversations as well as formal presentations of research spark innovation and nurture community.
FRIENDS OF THE PARKS
Friends of the Parks inspires, equips, and mobilizes a diverse Chicago to ensure an equitable park system for a healthy city.
Friends of the Parks:
- Helps make neighborhood parks safer
- Engages in planning, policy and research to protect Chicago’s lakefront from encroachments
- Trains the next generation of stewards
- Coordinates volunteers to clean and green Chicago’s public land
